World Ozone Day 2022 Press Release

World Ozone Day 2022 Press Release | Daikin Malaysia

13 October 2022, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – To increase public awareness of the importance to protect the ozone layer, Daikin Malaysia participated in the celebration of World Ozone Day 2022 on 24 September 2022 at Gamuda Cove, Dengkil, Selangor.

The main reasons of ozone thinning is caused by the activities such as industrial, agricultural, mining, etc. These activities cause the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and indirectly change the world’s climate.  Malaysia has ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on ozone layer thinners under the Vienna Convention for protecting the ozone layer. Kigali Amendment is expected to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide to 105 million tonnes in equivalent, while the global temperature is to be reduced by 0.5oC in the year 2100.

Daikin Malaysia  partnered with the Department Of Environment (DOE) to organize WALK FOR OZONE fun walk activity. Around 370 participants have participated in this event which includes both public and government agency. Daikin Malaysia has been invited to display a booth during the event. The display booth displayed and promoted Daikin premium SMARTO air conditioner, air purifiers, GO Daikin app and Go Clean service. Daikin took the opportunity to promote the energy effectiveness and technology of SMARTO air conditioner.
